  • As long as Americans buy illegal narcotics the abductions and killings will continue. In the 1920's, replace "narcotics" with "alcohol" and you get the same exact logic. Hell, you can ban any popular substance, and the same exact, deranged rationale would apply.

  • I disagree with the analysis of our post 9/11 mindset. We got behind Bush b/c our country had just suffered a horrifying, traumatic attack and deflecting to authority is what people do in such cases. Him being "our president" had little to do with it.

  • Eh, I don't think gambling is a moral failing in any way - we all do it one way or another (I have a degree in journalism. In many ways, that was a dumb gamble.) Getting with other chicks when you're married sucks though.

  • Sigh. This is why I went off Newsvine for a while. You can see Obama laughing at this part of the speech. Because it was funny. It sounds like a prayer from a pothead: the "yellow/mellow" thing doesn't even make any sense! OMG he's saying Koreans are hopped up on mescaline! RACIST!

  • The president, naturally, can't solve all of our problems; but, he can, you know, follow the law. One of our problems is that our just departing president is effectively a war criminal so, yes, this is one major problem Obama can solve. By, you know, not torturing people. Yes, even Muslims.
